2.3 Video Session Data

Our platform uses LiveKit for video tutoring sessions. During sessions, audio and video streams are transmitted in real time. Session recordings, if enabled, are stored securely and accessible only to the participants of that session.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Tutors/Students: Your name, profile, and booking details are shared with your session counterpart to facilitate tutoring
Stripe: Payment information is processed by Stripe Inc. under their privacy policy
Supabase: Our database and authentication provider, hosted in secure cloud infrastructure
LiveKit: Video session data is processed by LiveKit for real-time communication
Resend: Email addresses are shared with Resend for transactional email delivery
Legal authorities: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase and Vercel. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), row-level security policies, and secure authentication. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Session recordings are retained for 90 days unless otherwise agreed. Payment records are retained as required by Canadian tax law (minimum 6 years). You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your authentication session and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Authentication cookies are managed by Supabase and are necessary for the platform to function.

8. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

As a user in Canada, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
Withdraw consent for the collection or use of your information
Request deletion of your personal data
